Family Nooijens

A wonderful modern company, with the rooftop of the stalls filled with solar panels, an example of sustainable entrepreneurship to so many. The Nooijens family has been a loyal customer of the Peeters Group for years now, with several Peecon machines in operation.

The family works with a Butler XL feed pusher and a Biga Topliner feed mixer. More milk in less time and with lower costs. Every day, the Butler feed pusher spares everyone a lot of extra work in the stalls. “In the past, we had to start our shovel several times a day in order to move the feed into the stalls. Now this is fully automatic, whenever and wherever I want. I set up the Butler and let it do its job whenever it suits me. Fully electric and therefore much more sustainable. Moreover, I can go to birthdays with peace of mind without having to drive back and forth!” As Nooijens puts it.

More than just a farm

And that is quite convenient. Since a few years, the farm also has a child care centre, which is run by daughter Celina.

An agricultural kindergarten where children come into contact with nature and animals in a playful way. They also visit the stables, because taking care of the animals, such as stroking and feeding them, is also part of the job, of course. Children can become acquainted with the outdoor life of a farm in this way.

The new generation

In the meantime, the eldest daughter and son-in-law Patrick have joined the company as well. Mariette is also an active board member of the Friesland Campina cooperative. Sustainability is therefore a well-known concept and a much-discussed theme in the Nooijens family. Developments are always looked at both from an internal and external perspective; standing still is not an option. Future plans for this wonderful farm are sure to turn out just fine.
